Life skills are valuable lessons kids will use throughout their lifetime. But most kids don't learn how to handle real-world situations until they're in high school. Don't wait until your kids are teens to teach them life skills instead teach them from a tender age about life and society.

Let the child grow in the natural way with learning from his/her environment, whatever they see and experience is important for their self development. This will enhance their mental growth.

Parents must have patience with kids--The power of patience helps effective parents deal calmly and rationally with day-to-day problems and annoyances. It lets them stay focused on the "bigger picture" and not get bogged down by daily hassles. Patience helps them maintain emotional stability even in times of crisis, so patience is of utmost importance while dealing with a child.

Parents must be happy and share happiness with kids always because it will boost the child morally and he/she will feel more charm and essence of life.

Involve kids in playing toys and let them make the different kinds of figures out of it, try to identify and appreciate the child’s effort and encourage him/her so that he/she doesn’t lose confidence.

Picture reading is very important for a child. A child visualizes and retains an image for a longer time than just hearing something verbally. This creates an impact cum image in the child’s mind and it enhances the knowledge as well.

Read the story books with the child especially during bed time. Slowly and steadily the child will develop story hearing and later reading interest too. This will not only enhance the knowledge but in a way open windows of his/her mind about the world.

Don't pamper the child now and then; be clear with the instructions from starting so that the child starts understanding his/her role from beginning. At times it leads to over pampering issues as well which can hamper child’s real growth and overall development.

Spend quality time with them and maintain a schedule keeping in mind that your child requires your time too for his growth in life.

Parents must not argue in front of the kids—parents should always bear a positive character and avoid any kind of arguments or heated talks when kids are around, this impacts the kid and it hampers his overall development.
